The former, mainly in Devikulam Taluk of Idukki district, Munnar is usually known as the Kanan Devan hills or the High Ranges. The natural beauty, calmness and mild cold climate throughout the year makes it the favorite tourist place of both Indians and foreigners. Thekkady: The very sound of the name conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hill and spice scented plantations. Here, in the crisp, cool air of the Western Ghats you will experience the most enchanting holiday. Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India, and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks. A cruise through the waters of Periyar lake around which the wild -life sanctuary is situated, offers a soul - stirring pleasant experience. The Thekkady sanctuary is one of the best in the country for watching and photographing wild life.
Day 1 - Munnar : Arrive Cochin airport / Ernakulam railway station. Proceed to Munnar; On the way visit Valara and Cheeyappara waterfalls. During your journey to Munnar, you can enjoy village life of Kerala, rivers, forest and if you are lucky some wild animals. Check in into the hotel around 12 noon, have your lunch and relax for some time. Evening visit Munnar town and blossom park. Back to hotel and overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 2 - Munnar : Morning, after the breakfast proceed for full day Munnar sightseeing. First go to Eravikulam National Park which also known as Rajamala. This park visit need approximate 3 to 4 hour . Have your lunch and proceed for afternoon sightseeing locations, which includes Mattupetty and Kundala dam, Echo point, Top station, Photo point and Munnar rose garden. Evening back to hotel and over night stay at Munnar.
Day 3 - Thekkady : Proceed to Periyar or Thekkady (95 kms & 3 hrs drive). A scenic journey past mist capped mountains, spice plantations and open grasslands lined with spectacular waterfalls & delightful trekking trails form the access to your hide way here. On arrival check into the hotel, refresh yourself & be relaxed. A boat safari on the Periyar Lake extends a lifetime's chance to spot exotic wildlife in its natural habitat.
Day 4 - Departure : Morning after breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed towards Cochin (180kms, 04hrs 30mins drive). On reaching Cochin, if time permits you can visit Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets & The Dutch Palace. If your flight or train at late evening, you can visit Lulu shopping mall Edappally, the largest shopping mall in India. Drop at the railway station/airport for the return journey.
